Opened over a hundred years ago, Faro train station is the main railway hub in the eponymous city. It was opened in 1889 and played a vital role in the life of the city since.
The station can't boast a very impressive size, it has only 3 platforms and 6 tracks. Nevertheless, inside it's very nice and light. Faro rail station is well-equipped and provides everything you might possibly need for a comfortable stay. Interestingly, although the wonderful Spanish city of Seville is nestled less than 200 km (about 124 miles) away from Faro, unfortunately, there is no rail connection between these popular holiday destinations. |
